When you first open aim, this page covers everything you need to get going.

Bottom tabs

There are 5 tabs at the bottom of the screen.

Tab What you can do
Home See people nearby, sorted by distance
Timeline Browse everyone's posts and share your own (✏ at the bottom right)
Echo Share how you're feeling right now, like "Want to Drink" or "Want to Talk" (+ at the bottom right)
Message One-on-one messages (DMs). A badge appears when you have unread messages
Community Find and join groups based on hobbies and topics

At the top of the screen you'll find user search (magnifying glass) and notifications (bell).

First step: add a photo

Without at least one photo, most features are unavailable. You need at least one public photo to:

  • Open someone's profile
  • Send a message
  • Send a like
  • Request a photo exchange

How to add one:

  1. Open the menu (≡) at the top left and tap "My Profile"
  2. Under "Photo Management", tap "Edit Public Photos"
  3. Add photos (up to 10. Long-press a photo to reorder or delete it)

If you try one of these actions without a photo, you'll see "Profile Photo Required". You can add one right away from "Add a Photo".

Fill out your profile

From the same "My Profile" screen, you can enter your name, user ID, height, weight, position, MBTI, bio, and more. When you're done, tap "Save Profile" at the very bottom.

  • Your user ID must be 3–20 characters using letters, numbers, and underscores. You can change it once every 30 days.
  • "Profile Details" includes things like your views on relationships, how you spend your days off, and your type, giving others easy conversation starters.

Set your location

The Home list is sorted by distance from you. Without location data, distance shows as "?" and you'll appear toward the end of the list.

  1. Tap "Update Location" in the menu (≡)
  2. Tap "Update location" and allow access

Once you've allowed it, your location updates automatically while the app is open. Distances are color-coded: green for under 1 km, orange for 1–5 km, and red for 5 km or more.

What's in the menu (≡)

Tap ≡ at the top left to open features that aren't in the tabs.
